Support Us and Donate

Our goals are quite ambitious. We intend to save and adopt out 100 kittens and cats per month. We also aim to spay/neuter 200 feral and low-income cats per month. With the proper systems in place, and with adequate funding, we CAN do it. Achieving these two objectives will take our community a long way towards becoming No Kill.
All the cool cats are joining usEach kitten rescued costs us an average of $140.00 for veterinary expenses, food and foster care.
(x 100 = $14,000/month)

Since our rescues are from the pound, there are often additional veterinary costs due to illnesses contracted during the animal's impoundment in a shelter environment.

We would love to have you become a Project Purr BR Supporter. Donating is every bit as important in saving lives as those who go and do the actual rescuing. To MAIL in a donation, please fill out the DONATION FORM. Join our growing family of citizens who wish to see an end to the killing of homeless kittens and cats.

IN HONOR OF
ST FRANCIS OF ASSISI

Francis Bernardone was born in Assisi, Italy during the middle ages to a wealthy family. In his early years, he was prone to extravagance. In 1205 a serious illness caused Francis to take a deeper look at his superficial life, and he took an oath of poverty. He devoted the remainder of his life to the sick, the poor, and the helpless. He is best known as an advocate for animals and the environment. In one of many notable quotes, he stated "Not to hurt our humble brethren (animals) is our first duty to them, but to stop there is not enough. We have a higher mission - to be of service to them whenever they require it. If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men". We honor this man, who was many centuries ahead of his time, by naming our highest giving level **"St. Francis Society."
